Cedar Weaving Demonstration With Melvin Williams

The ICBC parkade, located adjacent to Lonsdale Quay Market offers free parking on evenings and weekends.

Related exhibition: N. Vancouver

Join us on Saturday, March 10 for a live demonstration of cedar weaving with Indigenous artist Melvin Williams. Williams, whose cedar mat is featured in the ongoing exhibition N. Vancouver, is an accomplished weaver who gathers and prepares his own materials.  Visitors will have the opportunity to watch traditional Salish weaving techniques, interact with the materials, and meet the artist.

A tour of the exhibition will begin in the lobby of The Polygon Gallery at 1pm, after which Melvin Williams will be weaving in the Gallery from 2-4pm.

In conjunction with the North Shore Art Crawl, The Polygon will offer free admission this weekend, while continuing to gratefully accept donations from visitors.
