In Memory Of Phil Lind

Your donation to the Philip B. Lind Emerging Artist Fund, held in The Polygon Gallery’s Endowment Fund, is gratefully accepted in honour of an inspirational and generous benefactor of the arts. In 2016, The Philip B. Lind Emerging Artist Prize was established to support emerging artists working with photography, film, and video. It reflects The Polygon’s long history of nurturing new talent among the province’s visual artists. Over the years, arts professionals across the province have been invited to nominate artists of promise. A jury of esteemed professionals determines a shortlist of artists who are invited to mount their works in an exhibition, and the winner is awarded a cash prize, as well as a future opportunity to exhibit at The Polygon.

This fund was established in 2015 with a donation from Rogers Communications in honour of Phil’s 40-year commitment to the communications industry. Your contribution will help to grow the impact of this fund, which supports The Polygon Gallery’s ongoing programming for British Columbia’s early-career visual artists.

Donations will be invested in perpetuity and are eligible for matching funds from the Government of Canada, multiplying the impact of each gift. A tax receipt for the full amount of your donation will be issued by The British Columbia Photography and Media Arts Society (dba The Polygon Gallery).

Grounded in photography, The Polygon Gallery creates space to challenge how we see the world. Operating for over forty years, the organization has produced more than 300 exhibitions and numerous publications, earning a reputation as an adventurous public art institution. The Polygon is committed to the development of lens-based practices and to creating pathways for new voices within the medium, particularly as it works to articulate new narratives from artists traditionally outside the Eurocentric perspective of many art galleries.
