Dog Tintype Portrait Studio With Geoffrey Wallang

Free parking is available at the ICBC parkade, adjacent to Lonsdale Quay Market after 6pm and on weekends.

Vancouver artist Geoffrey Wallang will be constructing a temporary tintype dog portrait studio at The Polygon Gallery.

A tintype is a photograph made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal coated with photographic emulsion. Tintypes enjoyed their widest use during the 1860s and 1870s, but lesser use of the medium persisted into the early 20th century and it has been revived as a fine art form in the 21st century. Each tintype is a camera original, a unique one of a kind image.

Cost: $250 for a unique 5"x7" tintype of your dog (with or without the owner in the portrait).

Reservations are required. To book an appointment, please call the gallery at 604-986-1351 or email info@thepolygon.ca.
