Multong Bakla: A Silent Presence Of Beauty

Walk between realms where the supernatural and physical bodies come together in an evening showcase of light, sound, movement, and poetry. "Multong Bakla: A Silent Presence of Beauty" is a divine communal summoning of queer Filipina/o/x spirits, exploring the enigmatic connections across seas and starlight.

Please note that this performance uses light effects that may affect individuals with light sensitivities. An optional low-stimulation seating area will be available in the performance space.

This performance also involves several optional interactive elements, such as facilitated gentle group movement and conversation, all taking place within a respectful consent-based space.

Guests are also welcome to bring a small non-breakable item (no larger than 30 cm3) representing a feeling of deep personal connection to place on a communal altar installation for the duration of the performance. Please note that guests will be responsible for collecting their items after the performance.

Multong Bakla is a ghostly haunting that includes trans-pacific other-worldly projected performances by artists based in the Philippines, combined with live performances by artists based in Canada. The performance was coordinated by Zeus Bascon (PH) and Jordan Baylon (CAN) and inspired by two community-building artist workshops.
