Related exhibition: A Handful Of Dust

Please join us for an artist talk with American artist John Divola. Based in Riverside, California, Divola’s Vandalism Portfolio (1974-5) is included in the current exhibition a Handful of Dust. He challenges the boundaries between fiction and reality, and the relationship between the natural and artificial. His images often reflect his native Southern California, featuring urban Los Angeles or the nearby ocean, mountains, and desert. Previously, his photographs were also included the former Presentation House Gallery’s 2007 exhibition To the Dogs.

John Divola (b. 1949, Los Angeles, US) has had more than seventy solo exhibitions worldwide since 1975. His work has been the subject of numerous exhibition catalogues, as well as monographs published by Mack Books and Nazraeli Press, among others. Divola is the recipient of a number of awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1986. He is currently a professor of art at the University of California, Riverside.

A book signing will follow.
