During Darrell’s many years as a City Councillor and then as Mayor, he championed The Polygon Gallery, a vibrant art institution that is committed to inspiring creativity and engaging all members of our community. A special place for Darrell and Yavanna, the Gallery is located in the heart of Lower Lonsdale where they first met, and they continue to be passionate about and proud of this organization and its people.

In celebration of their marriage, Darrell and Yavanna invite you to play a meaningful role in the continued success of the Gallery, with a donation in support of its annual artistic programming that includes:

• Exhibitions that celebrate both local and international artists, with an emphasis on providing a platform for artists from equity-seeking groups;
• Programs that engage and connect local Indigenous people through workshops led by Indigenous artists and Knowledge Holders;
• Skill-building opportunities and recognition for artists just starting their professional careers through the Emerging Artist Mentorship Program;
• Live performances, film screenings, artist talks, curator’s tours, kids programs, and more, which foster a deeper engagement and personal connection to the works on display.
