The organization now seeks an Admissions and Retail Floor Supervisor. Reporting to the Head of Guest Experience & Retail Operations, the Admissions and Retail Floor Supervisor is responsible for providing sales floor leadership to the Guest Services staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Overseeing daily operations on the Gallery’s frontline, including opening and closing duties
•  Supporting the Head of Guest Experience & Retail Operations in hiring and training new Guest Services staff
•  Serving as the first point of contact for customer service inquiries, and providing a professional and excellent guest experience
•  Also serving as the first point of contact for all Guest Services staff inquiries, including customer service, scheduling, product knowledge,
• last-minute schedule changes, etc.
•  Supporting the Head of Guest Services in ensuring that the Guest Services staff are kept up to date with information about The Polygon’s
• exhibitions, education programs, and special events, via email, staff communication book, and in-person interactions
•  Supporting Admissions, Membership and Gift Shop goals by encouraging donations and memberships and driving sales
•  Providing retail admin assistance and entering product into Lightspeed
•  Keeping the frontline workspace organized, conducting daily restocking, and troubleshooting basic POS, Blackbaud and Moneris issues
•  Meeting regularly with the Head of Guest Experience & Retail Operations to discuss operations, staffing, training, scheduling, and assisting with other tasks as needed
•  Attending staff meetings when the Head of Guest Experience & Retail Operations is not available

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have education and/or professional experience in retail sales and customer experience.
• The candidate should have superb customer-focused sales skills, familiarity with computerized POS and inventory systems and solid communication skills. Candidates must be able to lift 30-pound boxes and be physically active on the sales floor and in storage areas.
• Knowledge of Lightspeed, Square, Raiser’s Edge and an interest in, and knowledge of, contemporary art are all definite assets.
• The desire to contribute to a small office environment, which requires being proactive and willing to wear many hats is important.

Job Particulars

The Admissions and Retail Floor Supervisor  will work 5 days a week, Wednesday to Sunday, and will earn $47,500 per year. The role will largely take place on the salesfloor, with limited administrative work, which will be accommodated before the Gallery opens (i.e. 9:00-10:00 a.m.) Flexibility to work Thursday evenings, staffing store events, pop-ups, offsite events and special projects is required. Hours will be particularly heavy over holiday periods, especially in December.
