(Let Us Believe In) The Flight
Duration: 10 minutes +/-

(Let Us Believe In) The Flight is a performance piece by Sevin offering an intimate glance into a moment where body is suspended in anticipation, waiting for: words, warmer days, waiting for meaning encased in rituals of devoted repetition. The Flight features fragmented visual projections and a soundscape created by the artist, accompanying this short journey.

The title and conceptual elements in this piece draw inspiration from one of Forough Farrokhzad’s longest and most contemplative poems, ‘Iman Biavarim Be Aghaz-e Fasl-e Sard / .ایمان بیاوریم به آغاز فصل سرد’.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Sevin is a multi-disciplinary artist, a gear in several machines. In her creative practices, Sevin is currently devoted to themes of transformation, deconstruction and destruction, as well as the sensuality/sentience of 'non-living' material structures. She navigates her artistic explorations and documentations in a multi-disciplinary fashion, with the idea of cross- pollination in mind. Her visions are encapsulated over the span of several mediums including photo/video, performance, curatorial works, and poetry.

Lydia Pourmand is a swiss army knife of a designer. Specialising in Motion Design, AI image/video, Graphic Design and disruptive technology. She is a digital visionary with a diverse background in projection mapping, visuals for record labels, design for marketing, fine art, photography and working in frontier tech. She is experimental which brings an original flare to any project and role. Based in between her hometown London, UK and Vancouver.
