Dreaming Worlds In Motion: Art Writing Workshop

Join Fiona Glen for a writing workshop in response to Anna Binta Diallo’s exhibition, Predictions. Inspired by Diallo’s approach, we will use creative intuition to explore how we orient ourselves in a world of transformation.

In Predictions, Diallo reconfigures natural, cosmic and cartographic imagery into layered figures. Using a series of prompts, workshop participants will write directly from these artworks within the gallery space – taking them as starting points for experimental stories, myths and maps.

Like the exhibition, this workshop is expansive, inviting participants to navigate on their own imaginative journeys, rather than learning set techniques. This is a space to dream, mix memory with fiction, and expand your creative freedom.

Workshop runs 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Admission is by a suggested donation of $10-$20

Note that this event has limited capacity and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Session information
This workshop is open to all, but best suited to people who already enjoy writing in some capacity – whether that’s journalling or writing essays for school or work.

Please bring your own writing materials: either a notebook or a phone. As you will write while moving around the gallery, laptops are not suitable.
