Conversatorio virtual en vivo con las artistas Juliana Alvarado Alejandra Aragón, Koral Carballo, Mariceu Erthal y Sonia Madrigal, moderado por la curadora Andrea Sánchez Ibarrola.

Comentando las obras que conforman la muestra  Miradas Alternas, así como la propuesta curatorial de la exposición, intercambiaremos reflexiones entorno a los retos de fotografiar la violencia en el contexto actual de México. Las artistas nos compartirán experiencias y aprendizajes desarrollados en su práctica para generar representaciones visuales alternativas. Tomando en cuenta las tensiones políticas y éticas que surgen entorno a la representación de la violencia, discutiremos sobre las posibilidades y las limitantes que ofrece el medio fotográfico. El evento durará aproximadamente 60 minutos y se llevará a cabo en vivo para permitir la participación activa del público en la discusión enriqueciendo así la conversación.

Join us for a 60-minute webinar held in Spanish with artists Koral Carballo, Alejandra Aragón, Mariceu Erthal, Juliana Alvarado and Sonia Madrigal. This talk will be moderated by curator Andrea Sanchez. Discussing their works in Miradas Alternas, as well as the curatorial proposition, the artists will exchange reflections and experiences around the challenges of photographing violence in Mexico. The artists will share insights on their own practices and the strategies they have developed to create alternative visual representations. Considering the political, ethical and visual tensions at play in the representation of violence, the artists will discuss some of the possibilities that the medium of photography offers, its benefits and risks. Participation from viewers is encouraged to help enrich the discussion.
