First Night: Gala And Art Auction

The Polygon Gallery will open its doors for the first time on the evening of Saturday, October 21, 2017, to celebrate the culmination of its capital campaign and the upcoming grand opening of the extraordinary building for which the campaign has been the catalyst.

The evening will celebrate the major donors who have generously contributed to the realization of the Gallery’s vision for a distinctive waterfront landmark on Vancouver’s North Shore waterfront, and will showcase the art spaces that these donations have made possible. Guests will partake in the first public unveiling of the masterful design of Governor General Award-winning Patkau Architects.

Chaired by 2016 Hasselblad Award honouree Stan Douglas, the evening will centre on the auction of significant artworks donated by international artists in support of Canada’s newest purpose-built art space and its artist-focused endowment fund.

We congratulate those lucky guests with tickets for what is now a sold-out event. For those without tickets, absentee bidding is welcome and encouraged. View the Catalogue for details on each artwork.
