Design + Make X The Polygon

Join us at The Polygon Gallery Shop from April 20 - 27 for Design + Make. Co-presented with Emily Carr, this Pop-Up features unique home accessories by emerging designers.

Opening reception Thursday, Apr 20, 6 – 8pm.

Design + Make is a collaborative project with the students of the Industrial Design program. In this course led by Associate Professor Christian Blyt, students were tasked to design and make products that fit comfortably in the homes of patrons and visitors of The Polygon.

Materials are primarily wood, and a budget was set to cater to a retail price of $75 or less. Major themes of this project included concept development, strategizing small batch production, and developing a cohesive brand identity. Using these skills, the design teams created marketing plans to guide them towards the sale of their final products.

All these limited series products will be available for purchase in the pop-up store.
