Stan Douglas: Allegories Of The Present At Griffin Art Projects

Running at the same time as 2011 ≠ 1848, Griffin Art Projects presents Stan Douglas: Allegories of the Present.

The exhibition is a concise retrospective of Stan Douglas's work that brings together photographic works from the 1990s to the present. The artworks in the exhibition are drawn from private collections — including pieces from the artist’s own collection — as well as those from the Vancouver Art Gallery and Audain Art Museum.

Griffin Art Projects is located at 1174 Welch Street in North Vancouver, a 30-minute walk from The Polygon. Griffin is open Friday to Sunday from noon to 5:00pm. Admission is free.

About Griffin Art Projects
Established in 2015, Griffin Art Projects is a non-profit art residency and gallery located in North Vancouver. With its combination of public outreach, support for artists in the production of new work through residencies and studio spaces, and the featuring of work from private, public, and corporate collections and collectors, there is no other organization like it in Canada. Griffin is a non-collecting institution that considers the methodologies, thematics, and narratives that shape and direct visual culture, creative work, and collecting practices. Griffin’s exhibitions and events are always free.
