Related exhibition: The Lind Prize 2018

Established in 2016, the Philip B. Lind Emerging Artist Prize is awarded annually to an artist currently enrolled in a BFA or MFA program in British Columbia, working in mediums of film, photography, or video.

Please join us at The Polygon Gallery on Thursday, September 20 at 7pm. The winner of the Lind Prize will be announced, and will receive $5,000 toward the commissioning of a new artwork to be exhibited at The Polygon in 2019. This year, the Gallery received nominations for more than thirty artists from across the province. Finalists include: Krystle Coughlin, Noah Friebel, Laura Gildner, Christopher Lacroix, Ramey Newell, Lola Storey, Theo Terry, Graeme Wahn, and Matthew Wong.

The nine finalists represent Emily Carr University of Art and Design, the University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria and Simon Fraser University. They were selected by a jury comprised of Nina Bozicnik, Associate Curator, Henry Art Gallery, Seattle; Amy Kazymerchyk, Curator, Audain Gallery, Vancouver; and Vancouver artist Ian Wallace, who will reconvene the day of the award to choose the winner. Following the award, the finalists' work will remain on view at The Polygon Gallery, from September 21 – October 7, 2018.
