The Polygon Gallery is proud to be hosting the regular program – Kids First Saturdays. Join us on the first Saturday of every month for hands-on creative activities. Visit the Gallery, explore the artworks, and participate in activities that lead to deeper engagement with art and creativity.
As a regular Kids First visitor, you will always be greeted with new and exciting methods of creative play, encouraging experimentation with various media and materials.
Saturday, October 5, 11am – 3pm
Inspired by the current exhibition without a word, October’s Kids First activity provides the chance to create a large, hand-tinted family portrait.
The first step involves building costume elements by cutting and taping paper and cardboard to your clothes. Then, you and your family will pose for a photo in a studio setting, followed by printing your black and white image on 11 X 17 paper. To finish, coloured dry pastels will be available to hand-tint the results of your own custom family portrait creation!
Mark your 2019 calendar for the first Saturday of each month!
Good to know
Kids 12 and under are required to bring a parent or caretaker to attend the program.
Activities are geared towards ages 6-12, however all are welcome to join and participate.
